Gluten Free Italian Marinade

Homemade Italian Marinade Comment:
This is the base recipe for our Italian Dressing but with the addition of chopped garlic, a dry mix and water, it is used as a marinade and then as a basting sauce while grilling the chicken. It adds a zesty, sweet taste to the chicken and has become to a family favorite.
Prep time:
10 minutes
Yield:
¾ cup
Ingredients:
4 ounces Virgin Olive Oil
2 ounces Red Wine Vinegar
1 tsp chopped garlic
2 tsp Italian Salad Dressing (dry) by Good Seasons
2 tbls water
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
½ tsp hot red pepper flakes
Preparation:
Mix all ingredients together, stirring often if being used as a basting sauce. As a marinade...place the chicken in a zip lock plastic bag and add the sauce, rolling it to coat all sides of the meat and let it marinade for at least one hour either in the refrigerator or on ice. When grilling chicken, use as a basting sauce brushing it on the meat to keep it moist. Discard leftover sauce.
