GF Hot Cereal

Comment: A hot cereal is always a pleasure to have and the quickest, tastiest and easiest to prepare that we use is Bob’s Red Mill ‘Mighty Tasty Hot Cereal’ that comes in a 24 ounce package.

It depends on how many bowls of cereal you plan to serve. We prepare for 2 servings.

Ingredients:
Proportionate contents of the premixed package
Proportionate amount of water
Salt to taste
Preparation:
Instructions on the package calls for 3 ¼ cups of water to 1 cup of cereal but we find that too much for our one sitting so we reduce both proportionately . Here’s what we do and you will have to experiment to reach your own consumption level. Bring 1 ½ cups of water to a boil in a 1.5 quart pan adding a little salt and butter. When water boils add ½ cup Bob’s Hot Cereal and stir frequently until the consistency of the cereal is somewhat thick – but as cooking, if it appears to be dry, add hot water to loosen it up. When cooked add milk, butter, sugar or salt.
Condiments: Honey, Brown Sugar, Milk, Butter
